Alain Harrus, Ph.D.
Chairman and CEO, Kateeva, Inc.
Alain joined Kateeva in 2013.
Previously, he was a Partner at Crosslink Capital, a San Francisco-based venture capital company where he led the firm’s semiconductor and energy technology investment activities.
Before turning to venture capital, Alain developed breakthrough process technologies that kept semiconductor manufacturers on track with Moore’s Law—first as a research scientist at Bell Laboratories, and later as Chief Technology Officer at Novellus Systems—now part of Lam Research. There, he championed a total copper metallization solution for advanced semiconductor manufacturing—a disruptive move that made Novellus a category leader and helped catapult the company across the $1 billion revenue threshold.
As an investor, Alain focused on early-stage science-based hardware companies developing challenging technologies. An engaged Board member, he advised executive teams on strategic growth initiatives, particularly technology roadmap development, product and commercialization strategies, and infrastructure, as well as fund-raising, valuation, and exits.
Alain holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a Master of Science degree in Physics from the University of Paris XI at Orsay, France, as well as a Ph.D. degree in Solid State Physics from Temple University in Philadelphia. He has authored and co-authored more than 30 technical papers and is a co-inventor on six patents.
Conor Madigan, Ph.D.
President and Co-Founder, Kateeva, Inc.
Conor co-founded Kateeva in 2008. He served as the company’s first CEO, securing several rounds of funding and growing the company from a team of three MIT PhD graduates to more than 100 global employees. In 2013, Conor recruited Alain Harrus to the CEO role, and became Kateeva’s President. He also serves on the company’s Board of Directors.
Today, Conor is responsible for technology R&D, applications, product development, marketing, new business development and M&A. In addition, he serves as the executive business partner for Kateeva’s IP portfolio development.
Before Kateeva, Conor was a postdoctoral Research Scientist at MIT and has worked on organic electronic device technology for almost two decades. He has authored numerous publications on the topic and holds patents in fields spanning physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, materials science, and software engineering. In 2017, he testified before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee in support of the importance of a robust intellectual property system in building a strong and vibrant U.S. economy.
In 2016, Conor was named “Inventor of the Year” by the Silicon Valley Intellectual Property Law Association. In 2015, he was named a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Northern California. Shortly after co-founding Kateeva, he appeared on the 2010 TR35 list. Published annually by MIT Technology Review Magazine, the prestigious list names top technology innovators under the age of 35.
Conor earned a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from MIT, both in Electrical Engineering.
General Partner, Sigma Partners
Fahri joined Sigma Partners in 2006 as general partner. He applies his expertise by identifying strong entrepreneurs with good ideas to help build disruptive, market-leading companies.
Fahri was founder, president, and CEO of Qtera Corporation, which he led to become the leading provider of ultra-long-haul photonic networking solutions. Nortel Networks acquired the company for $3.25 billion. Fahri continued to lead Qtera as president of the wholly-owned subsidiary until 2001. Before Qtera, Fahri was a member of the executive team at Siemens. Here, he helped establish and manage the company’s Optical Networks business unit in North America, which was later spun-off as Optisphere Networks. Prior to Siemens, Fahri led Pirelli’s pioneering activities in the optical amplifier and Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) markets. The optical systems division of Pirelli was later acquired by Cisco Systems for $2.15 billion.
Before joining Sigma, Fahri founded Concept Ventures in 2005 by acquiring a portion of the assets of Applied Materials Ventures where he served as managing director.
A native of Cyprus, Fahri came to the U.S. in 1985 on an academic scholarship to the Florida Institute of Technology, where he earned his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering. He holds five patents in the field of fiber optics and optical communications.
Dr. Rao Mulpuri
Chief Executive Officer, View Inc.
Dr. Mulpuri is the Chief Executive Officer of View Inc. He is responsible for the strategic direction and the financial and operational performance of the company.
Prior to View Inc., he held several executive positions at Novellus Systems, most recently as President of Novellus Systems Japan and Vice President and General Manager of the Integrated Metals Business Unit.
He holds a BE in Mechanical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, India, MS in Manufacturing Engineering, and Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from Boston University. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
Director, View Inc.
For 30 years, Harold has applied his broad financial and business strategy credentials to help turn pioneering technology companies into global brands, earning the respect of customers, and the admiration of Wall Street. He served as a director of Rambus Inc., a chip interface company from 2003 to 2012, and as its chief executive officer and president from 2005 to 2012, providing the vision and operational leadership necessary to drive growth. His private sector career began at Intel, where he held these positions: treasurer, vice president of Intel Capital, chief financial officer, and vice president of planning and logistics. After that, he became the chairman and chief executive officer of Pandesic, LLC. Harold began his career as a United States Army Officer.
Harold holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from the University of Wisconsin, and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan. He currently holds Board positions at Quantenna Communications and View Inc.
Dr. Steve Fu
Partner, WRV Capital and Walden PE
Dr. Steve Fu has built a career appreciably increasing corporate value through technology investment and incubation, M&A and restructuring. In January 2017, Dr. Steve Fu joined Walden International as a partner in both the WRV venture fund and Walden PE fund.
Prior to Walden International, Dr. Fu was the Chief Strategy Officer of Fairchild Semiconductors, a recognized leader of intelligent power management and delivery solutions across mobile, automotive, cloud and industrial market segments. Dr. Fu led Fairchild’s central R&D teams, new business incubation, partnerships, restructuring and acquisitions. Dr. Fu drove all phases of Fairchild’s merger process culminating in the acquisition by ON Semiconductor for $2.4 billion which closed September 2016.
Prior to joining Fairchild, Dr. Fu drove corporate strategy development of Maxim Integrated Products as well as VMware’s desktop virtualization business, a leading Enterprise software company. Dr. Fu’s work culminated in 10 successful acquisitions, which accelerated Maxim and VMware’s entries into fast-growing markets and significant stock price appreciation.
During the last four years of Dr. Fu’s eleven-year career at Cisco, he developed and executed strategies for Cisco’s emerging technology (video collaboration, advanced security and wireless), consumer, China investments and advance semiconductor practices. Steve’s work culminated in more than 15 minority investments, and 10 successful acquisitions.
Steve received his Ph.D. EE from Stanford University in 2001, BSEE from UC Berkeley and is a recipient of the prestigious President’s scholarship.
Shubham (Sam) Maheshwari
Executive Vice President and CFO, Veeco
Shubham (Sam) Maheshwari has served as Executive Vice President and CFO at Veeco Instruments (Nasdaq: VECO) since 2014 where he oversees finance, investor relations, information technology, supply chain and global manufacturing functions. Prior to that he served as Chief Financial Officer of OnCore, a manufacturer of electronic products in the medical, aerospace, defense and industrial markets. Prior to this role, he was Senior Vice President of Finance, Treasury, Tax and Investor Relations at Spansion. Previously, he spent more than ten years at KLA-Tencor, a global semiconductor capital equipment manufacturing company, in various senior level corporate development and finance roles, including Vice President of Corporate Development and Corporate Controller.
He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi, India, an MS in Chemical Engineering from Kansas State University, and an MBA from the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania.

Todd Dagres is a founder and general partner of Spark Capital.
Previously, he was a general partner and executive committee member at Battery Ventures. There he led the Communications Investment practice while focusing on the media, entertainment and communications industries. Prior to Battery Ventures, Todd was principal and senior technology analyst at Montgomery Securities; senior technology analyst and vice president at Smith Barney/Robinson Humphrey; vice president of communications at the Yankee Group; and business Development manager for Networks and Communications at Digital Equipment Corporation.
Todd was named to the Forbes Midas List three times. The list ranks venture capitalists who have created the most wealth for their investors. In 2008, AlwaysOn ranked him on their Hollywood IT List which features top entertainment executives and dealmakers in information technology.
Todd holds an MBA from Boston University and a BS in psychology from Trinity College, Hartford, CT.
Dr. Jin Yi
Executive Director, Redview Capital
Dr. Yi is Executive Director at Redview Capital, a private equity fund founded by Mr. Jianming Yu in January 2016. Redview Capital focuses on traditional growth capital, on investments in Advanced Manufacturing, Clean Energy, Advanced Materials, and Consumer sectors in China. Dr. Yi’s main focus areas are Clean Technology, Advanced Manufacturing and Advanced Materials.
Dr. Yi has in-depth domain expertise in materials and clean technology with over 10 years of experience in technology development, product marketing and entrepreneurship. Since joining New Horizon Capital in 2013, Dr. Yi has taken a leading role in its Jinko Power investment.
Prior to New Horizon Capital, Dr. Yi spent four years at Keytone Ventures, investing in clean technology and high-tech sectors. Before Keytone Ventures, he was one of the founding members and a product marketing manager at Applied Materials’ energy storage product group, and a design engineer at its semiconductor process equipment group. Before his corporate career, Dr. Yi conducted materials research on Li-ion battery and fuel cell at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Feng (Philip) Yuan
VP, BOE Technology Group
Feng (Philip) Yuan is VP of BOE Technology Group, a global leading enterprise in the semiconductor display industry. He graduated from Tsinghua University in China, with an MBA degree and engineering background. Mr. Yuan served continuously in BOE, representatively as VGM of Strategic Planning Department, Director of Corporate Office, GM of Domestic Sales, and now, Chief Strategic Marketing Officer. He serves as Chairman or Director in several BOE Group subsidiaries. With years of sales practices and marketing research, he has been an expert in the semiconductor display industry. He’s a frequent speaker at leading global conferences, and has delivered keynote addresses at US SID, Korea IMID, and China Hi-tech Fair.
Jiaheng (Henry) Wang
Managing Director, Beijing Singularity Power Investment Co., Ltd.
Jiaheng (Henry) Wang is a founding member and the Managing Director of Beijing Singularity Power Investment Co., Ltd (SPC), a private equity firm funded jointly by BOE Technology Group, CICF and E-Town Capital, with a focus primarily on Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Mr. Wang is a renowned expert in the display industry. Prior to founding SPC, he served as the Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer and a board member of BOE Technology Group, where he spearheaded the mobile display business to achieve number one market share in both mobile phone and tablet display global markets. Mr. Wang also has over 15 years of experience in global investment, merger and acquisition (M&A).
Mr. Wang holds an MBA degree from Tsinghua University.
Dr. Yan Xiaolin
CTO and SVP, TCL Corporation
Dr. Yan joined TCL Corporation in 2001. He was vice general manager of TCL multimedia R&D center and director of flat panel display TV R&D center for FPD TV development. Currently he is the Chief Technology Officer and the Senior Vice President of TCL Corporation, and the President of TCL Corporate Research.
Dr. Yan graduated from the Institute of Plasma Physics of Chinese Academy of Science with a Doctoral Degree in July 1999. From July 1999 to May 2001, he worked as a post-doctoral fellow in the Chinese Academy of Science.
Dr. Yan is the leader of the expert group of the New Display Key Project of the national five-year plan (2010-2015) of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the PRC, the expert of compilation group for the national key project on strategic electronics of the five- year plan (2016-2021), the expert member of compilation group for the National “New materials research and engineering Key project ” plan, a Committee Member of the Electrical Technology Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC, the Asia Regional Vice President of the Society of Information Display (SID), a Director of the Display Technology Committee of the Chinese Vacuum Society, a President of the Engineering Laboratory of Digital Home of the PRC, an Executive President of the Engineering Technology Research Center of Digital Family Life of the PRC and the Chairman of the China 3D Industry Association.
In addition, Dr. Yan completed 12 national projects as a person-in-charge, formulated one set of International Electrotechnical Commission international standard and two sets of national standards as a group leader, as well as registered 32 patents of his inventions as the chief inventor, two of which were awarded the Gold Award and Outstanding Award of the PRC National Patent Award respectively. The Gold Award also was recognized by WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) and had definite influence internationally.
